Kate’s last album of original material was ‘Girl Can Help It’ in 2003. Since then she has released the covers albums ‘Nine Lime Avenue’ and ‘So Much Beauty’, the jazz record ’19 Days In New York’, the Christmas album ‘Merry Christmas’, the live record ‘Live with the WASO’ and two special project albums ‘Bittersweet’ with Mark Isham and ‘Dallas et Kate’ with Dallas Cosmas.

The new album has been titled ‘Kensal Road’. It was recorded at Kensaltown Studios in London.

‘Magnet’ was cowritten with Malaysian born, US based singer-songwriter Yuna and James Bryan. “Magnet is a very beautiful and delicate song, and it’s not surprising because the co-writer of the song is an artist named Yuna. There’s something very special and captivating about the song, and I feel we created a really magical moment with this piece”, she said in a statement.

‘Magnet’ will be released on June 14. It is Kate’s first release for her new label Sony Music.

James Taylor Farewells Australia With Final Tour (Melbourne Review)

I could go to a James Taylor show just for the stories. The man is a part of music history and is still around to tell the tales of how it all began. Like, for instance, being the first artist signed to Apple Records. James “auditioned” for Apple with his song ‘Something In The Way She Moves’. "Paul went away and started the label and George went away and wrote the song”, he said.
