According to the official Daffodils Facebook page, Daffodils is a New Zealand musical feature film based on the much-loved and critically acclaimed stage play of the same name. The film is a bittersweet love story told with beautiful re-imaginings of the most iconic New Zealand songs ever written, including tracks by Crowded House, LIPS, Bic Runga, Chris Knox, The Mint Chicks, Dave Dobbyn, The Clean, The Exponents, Darcy Clay, Mutton Birds, Th’Dudes, The Senators/Ray Columbus and the Invaders, The Swingers and Blam Blam Blam.

‘Daffodils’s the musical premiered in Auckland in 2014. It is the story of 16-year old Rose and 18-year old Eric from Hamilton, New Zealand. They meet by a lake of daffodils and fall in love in exactly the same place Eric’s parents met 20 years earlier.

The movie was filmed in Waikato, Wellington and Wairarapa in New Zealand and will premiere in Australia and New Zealand in April 2019.
