What sold more in Victoria this weekend – tickets to the Melbourne Guitar Show on Saturday or the number one album in Victoria? Hint: Rob Walker’s inaugural Melbourne Guitar Show was more popular in Victoria that Meghan Trainor’s ‘Title’ album this week.

The Melbourne Guitar Show was the brainchild of musician and music exec Rob Walker who has taken over the Caulfield Racecourse in Melbourne this weekend to give the state of Victoria a taste of what the USA has been experiencing for years with NAMM.

The Melbourne Guitar Show is questionably the biggest music event in Victoria this weekend. It has certainly surpassed attendance for the Ollie Murs show at the Palais, The Supersense event at the Arts Centre may come close but that is a series of shows under one branded umbrella, none of which would have rivalled the peak attendance at the Melbourne Music Show on Saturday afternoon.

Sydney, Brisbane, Adelaide and Perth were defunct of major music events this weekend suggesting the Melbourne Music Show was the biggest music event in Australia this weekend.

The Melbourne Guitar Show is at Caulfield Racecourse, again all day Sunday, August 9, 2015.
