Millsy To Play Jesus In The Production Company ‘Jesus Christ Superstar’ For 2017

The 2017 line-up for The Production Company has been revealed with Rob Mills resurrecting as Jesus in a new production of ‘Jesus Christ Superstar’.

For the past 19 years, The Production Company has developed to become one of Australia’s premium theatre companies with its annual events designed for all ages.

‘Jesus Christ Superstar’ is a big win for The Production Company. It has not only been endorsed by Lord Andrew Lloyd Webber but Lord Webber’s company The Really Useful Group will co-produce this production.

Rob Mills is a first-time actor for The Production Company after having starred in major theatre productions Ghost and Wicked.

Alinta Chidzey will play Mary Magdalene, Zoy Frangos will be Judas.

The Production Company Chairman Jeanne Pratt AC and Artistic Director Ken Mackenzie-Forbes announced the 2017 line-up at Jeanne’s residency Raheen.

The 2017 season will kick-off in May with Hello Dolly starring Marina Prior and Grant Piro. Jesus Christ Superstar will be staged in July and then the final show for 2017 will be Brigadoon in October, starring Rohan Browne, Genevieve Kingsford and Nancye Hayes.

The Production Company 2017 dates

27 May – 11 June, Hello Dolly, 19 performances at the Playhouse.
29 July – 6 August, Jesus Christ Superstar, 11 performances at the State Theatre
28 October – 5 November, Brigadoon, 11 performances at the State Theatre.
