Macaulay Culkin will revisit his most famous role when Home Alone screens in Brisbane, Melbourne and Sydney in November, followed by live audience Q&As with the actor.

Macaulay Culkin will return to Australia in November for three special screenings of Home Alone, each followed by a live moderated Q&A with the actor who played Kevin McCallister in the 1990 Christmas comedy.
The events, titled Home Alone: A Nostalgic Night With Macaulay Culkin, will take place at Fortitude Music Hall in Brisbane on 24 November, Regent Theatre in Melbourne on 27 November and Enmore Theatre in Sydney on 29 November.
The format combines a theatrical presentation of the original film with an opportunity for audiences to hear Culkin discuss his experiences making the movie, his memories of the production and the film’s enduring place in popular culture.
Released in 1990, Home Alone was directed by Chris Columbus and written by John Hughes. Culkin played eight-year-old Kevin McCallister, who is accidentally left behind when his family travels for Christmas. Kevin subsequently defends his home from two burglars, played by Joe Pesci and Daniel Stern.
The role transformed Culkin, then a child actor, into an international star. His performance earned a Golden Globe nomination, while the film became closely associated with the Christmas season and has remained a recurring part of holiday viewing.
Culkin returned as Kevin for Home Alone 2: Lost In New York in 1992. The sequel moved the story from the McCallister family home to New York City and again featured Culkin at the centre of the story.
His film work has extended well beyond the Home Alone franchise. Culkin appeared in Uncle Buck, My Girl, Rocket Gibraltar and The Pagemaster, among other projects. Later credits included the independent film Changeland, Saved! and Party Monster, in which he portrayed Michael Alig.
Culkin has also maintained a television career, appearing in projects including Kings, Robot Chicken, American Horror Story: Installment 10 and The Righteous Gemstones. He is also part of the cast of the upcoming season of Fallout.
Outside acting, Culkin was a member of the comedy music project The Pizza Underground and founded Bunny Ears, a media venture encompassing a website, podcast, live events and merchandise.
The Australian appearances follow a period of renewed public recognition for Culkin. He was recently honoured with a star on the Hollywood Walk of Fame, marking four decades in the entertainment industry.
