GWAR Begin Work On Next Album

GWAR are in the studio working on a new album, at least according to a new video, Pusty’s Mailbag, hosted by band member Pustulus Maximus.

Maximus, aka Brent Purgason, talks about recording new music and shows some “behind the scenes” video from the studio (OK, not real studio footage but it’s fun). The video is below but, remember, it’s NSFW (language, drug use, nudity…..well, maybe it was nudity…..it’s hard to tell on aliens).

According to the band’s website, they are working on “another disasterpiece” and have been writing new music for months. “A due date for the record has not been decided but the band is grinding out what may prove to be their most savage and bloodthirsty tracks to date.”

They are also looking for a producer “that is brave enough to risk their life to give them the tones of the gods to make this next record stand as a testament to the next era of GWAR.”

The current band is made up of Blothar (Michael Bishop) on vocals and bass, Balsac the Jaws of Death (Mike Derks) on rhythm guitar, Jizmak Da Gusha (Brad Roberts) on drums, Beefcake the Mighty (Jamison Land) on bass and Pustulus Maximus (Brent Purgason) on lead guitar. The new album will be their fourteenth studio set and their first since 2013’s Battle Maximus.
