Perrie Edwards Fine After Zayn Malik Split

Perrie Edwards has broken her silence on her split from ex-fiance Zayn Malik, reassuring fans she’s doing “good”.

News broke yesterday that the popstar couple had broken up after Zayn called off their engagement. The pair began dating in 2012 and the former One Direction star popped the question the year after.

Perrie is currently keeping herself busy with her group Little Mix and their new single Black Magic, but couldn’t escape the split when she sat for an interview with bandmates Leigh-Anne Pinnock, Jesy Nelson and Jade Thirlwall yesterday.

“I’m good, thank you,” Perrie quietly replied when asked by E! how she’s doing following the split.

Luckily the other three girls chimed in to change the subject.

“We don’t really want to talk about it,” Leigh-Anne added

“We’re here to get our nails done,” Jade joked in an American accent, which cracked a smile out of Perrie.

It’s claimed the couple were having problems in the lead up to their split, but it comes as a surprise to fans as Zayn quit 1D earlier this year to focus on himself and his relationship. The couple had appeared smitten up until only a few weeks ago, posting photos of each other on Instagram.

Zayn has yet to speak out about his engagement ending, though he did post a cryptic photo on Twitter earlier this morning. It was a print out of a lily flower resting on a keyboard, with his followers questioning its meaning.

“@zaynmalik no but seriously what is this, is this some kind of hint or something or you just find the picture cool,” one user wrote, while another attempted to give him some advice: “@zaynmalik Why you are dumping all the people that made you happy like that? Always think twice so you won’t regret it (sic).”
