Presley was being treated for lung cancer and had suffered a series of strokes.

The Troggs, from Andover, Hampshire, UK, had a number of global hits that became classics. They were best known for ‘Wild Thing’, ‘With A Girl Like You’ and ‘Love Is All Around’ (the latter made famous all over again in the 90s by Wet Wet Wet).

Presley wrote ‘With A Girl Like You’ and ‘Love Is All Around’.

The Troggs formed in 1964 and were managed by Larry Page, who also managed The Kinks. They broke up in 1969 but reformed a number of times.

In 1991, one of those reformations led to the recording of the album ‘Athens Andover’ with members of The Troggs and Bill Berry, Peter Buck and Mike Mills of R.E.M..

Presley suffered a stroke in 2010 and then again in December, 2011. In January, 2012 he announced he had been diagnosed with lung cancer and officially retired from the music industry.
