Ringo Starr Pays Tribute To Rory Storm On Postcards From Paradise

in New Music,News

Ringo Starr has a song about his first band Rory and the Hurricanes on his next album ‘Postcards From Paradise’.

Ringo Starr was the drummer in Rory Storm and the Hurricanes from 1960 to 1962 before replacing Pete Best in The Beatles on August 14, 1962.

The Hurricanes were one of Liverpool’s most popular bands in 1960 but only released two singles in their day.

Storm and his mother died in September, 1972. He was 34. Rory was found with pills and alcohol in his bloodstream but his death was ruled accidental. His mother is thought to have committed suicide after finding her son’s body.

Ringo’s ‘Postcards From Paradise’ will feature the usual all-starr guest list from Ringo’s famous friends including brother-in-law Joe Walsh, Benmont Tench of The Heartbreakers, Dave Stewart of Eurythmics, Ann Marie Simpson, Richard Marx, Amy Keys, Peter Frampton, Nathan East, and Glen Ballard.

The album will also be Starr’s first to include a song written and recorded by Ringo Starr and his current All Starr Band – Steve Lukather, Todd Rundgren, Gregg Rolie, Richard Page, Warren Ham and Gregg Bissonette.
