Rita Ora will 100 per cent not be flirting on The X Factor.

The singer has taken up one of the judging seats on the UK version of the singing contest, joining Simon Cowell, Cheryl Fernandez-Versini and radio DJ Nick Grimshaw to make up this year’s mentoring panel.

Despite being single after splitting with Ricky Hil last month, 24-year-old Rita assures TV fans there will be no romantic behaviour going on.

“Let me just completely tell you the truth. I wasn’t being a flirt. I’m a very open person, if I see something that I really like or someone that’s really nice, whether it’s a male or female, I’m the first to compliment, and I’ll just say, ‘You look really great’ or you look great’,” she told Free Radio.

“Definitely not – 100 per cent no, no, no [I would date a contestant]. of course not. I’m a judge on the show, it’s very professionally 100 per cent.”

Despite her protestations, the blonde singer is said to have hit it off with a few contestants.

Rita found her feet as a judge on rival talent show The Voice, where she sat on a panel of men consisting of Tom Jones, will.i.am and Ricky Wilson.

Now she’s having to contend with fellow singer Cheryl. When wannabe pop star Hobbie Stuart auditioned both Cheryl and Rita allegedly took a shine to him. Cheryl called him beautiful, reported The Sun, which left Rita to fight her corner.

“What about me? You know, Cheryl, it’s different approaches. You’re a bit more forward.

‘We could have been soulmates. Your birthday is December 26 and so is mine. Well, actually mine is November 26, but still . . . ‘ Rita said.
