Rudolf Schenker was 16 years old when he formed his band Scorpions in Germany. When they tour Australia for the first time in November he will be 70. It is the only job he has ever had.

Scorpions are Germany’s most successful and longest continuously running band. In 1990, they had a massive hit worldwide with ‘Wind of Change’. America has also given them chart positions with ‘Rock You Like A Hurricane’ and ‘Send Me An Angel’. In Germany they have had 13 Top 40 hits.

In 2017 Scorpions played one Australian show only for Live Nation. They will return in November for a national tour with Def Leppard.

Rudolf is at Noise11 this week talking up the tour.

This week Noise11 is also featuring Gil Matthews’ latest historical masterpiece, a newly restored never before released live concert of Jesus Christ Superstar from the Capitol Theatre in Sydney in 1973.

This was the classic line-up of Jon English, Marcia Hines, Stevie Wright and Trevor White. The show made the careers of English and Hines. Listen to four songs from Gil’s new edition of the 1973 classic.

We have new music from Ben Harper and Charlie Musselwhite, who are also touring for Live Nation and Bob Dylan’s set closer ahead of his Australian tour for Chugg.

Listen live now to the Noise11 Radio Show at iHeartRadio and if you miss anything, keep listening. The show loops ever 90 minutes.
