Steve Jones of The Sex Pistols will receive a star on the Hollywood Walk of Fame in 2018 but not for music. Jones will be awarded for his work on radio.

Jones hosts Jonesys Jukebox Monday to Friday on LA radio station KLOS. Before moving to KLOS the show was on Indie 103.5 for five years.

Jones was also a founding member and lead guiatrist for The Sex Pistols.

The Walk of Fame Selection Committee of the Hollywood Chamber of Congress has announced the people who will be enshrined on the Walk in 2018.

The list is quite heavy on music stars for next year with the Recording category including Mary J. Blige, Sir Richard Branson, Petula Clark, Harry Connick, Jr., Ice T, Snoop Dogg, Carrie Underwood and “Weird Al” Yankovic; however, people in other categories also have a strong connection with the music community.

In Motion Pictures, Jack Black has had success as part of the group Tenacious D while, in Television, Simon Cowell has made a name for himself discovering numerous popular boy and girl bands and RuPaul has had eight top ten hits on the Dance chart. In addition, Charles Aznavour (Live Theatre/Live Performance) has recorded over fifty studio albums.

Vin Di Bona, Chair of the Walk of Fame Selection committee, said “The Walk of Fame Selection Committee is pleased to announce our newest honorees to the Hollywood Walk of Fame. The Committee looked carefully at each nominee and we feel that we have selected an eclectic group of talent that will appeal to the tastes of many fans around the world. As a Walk of Famer myself, I know these honorees will remember the dedication of their stars with great memories and will be proud that they are part of Hollywood’s history now and forever. We look forward to their big day as the Walk of Fame Class of 2018 becomes cemented one by one on the most famous sidewalk in the world!”

Why Queen’s Quietest Member John Deacon Chose to Become a Recluse Until This Rare Return

For fans of Queen, John Deacon has long been the enigma of the band, a brilliant musician, masterful songwriter, and humble presence behind the scenes. Since the early 1990s, Deacon has shunned the spotlight, retiring quietly after Freddie Mercury’s death in 1991. But now, years later, he has quietly resurfaced, lending his signature alongside bandmates Roger Taylor and Brian May on a charity auction item, signalling, perhaps, that even the most private of souls can still make their mark in unexpected ways.
