Sinead O’Connor Answers ‘Why’ About What Happened For Dr Phil

Sinead O’Connor will answer the questions about why she locked herself away in a New Jersey hotel room and tell all about her battle with depression, her suicidal thoughts and her mother, in a confronting program from Dr Phil.

Sinead sent a desperate plea from a New Jersey motel in August.

“I am fed up as being defined as the crazy person, the child abuse survivor,” Sinead tells Dr Phil on the show to air in the USA next Tuesday (September 12).

Sinead traces her troubles back to an abusive mother. “I love that my mother is dead. She ran a torture chamber. She took great delight in hurting me,” Sinead confesses.

She admits that she tried to kill herself 8 times in one year. “I became very suicidal. I was a basket case,” she says.

She is now ready to move on. “I am changing my name. Sinead O’Connor has gone. That person has gone”.

Sinead O’Connor will speak frankly and honestly on the first episode of Dr Phil’s 16th season airing Tuesday, September 12.
