Rhino Records will release a special 50th anniversary edition of the Doors’ Strange Days that will included the mono mix of the album.

Strange Days was the band’s second album, released just nine months after their debut and while that album was still in the top ten. Recorded during breaks in their first major tour, the album went to number three and spawned two hits, “People Are Strange” (1967 / #12) and “Love Me Two Times” (1967 / #25). Other Doors staples include “Moonlight Drive” and “When the Music’s Over”.

There is no bonus material on the album with the first CD including a newly remastered stereo version of the album and CD 2 being a similarly remastered mono edition which is available on CD for the first time. There will also be a mono vinyl edition of the set.

James Taylor Farewells Australia With Final Tour (Melbourne Review)

I could go to a James Taylor show just for the stories. The man is a part of music history and is still around to tell the tales of how it all began. Like, for instance, being the first artist signed to Apple Records. James “auditioned” for Apple with his song ‘Something In The Way She Moves’. "Paul went away and started the label and George went away and wrote the song”, he said.
