The Rolling Stones Take Votes For A Rarity For Ohio

The Rolling Stones have included the rarely played song ‘(Doo Doo Doo Doo Doo) Heartbreaker’ for Ohio to vote on for Saturday night’s show.

The 1973 ‘Goat’s Head Soup’ track has not been performed by the Stones since 2007 and to date has only been played eight times since 1995.

‘Heartbreaker’ is one of four songs Ohio fans can vote for at the Stones website, along with ‘Shattered’, ‘Paint It Black’ and ‘Dead Flowers’.

‘(Doo Doo Doo Doo Doo) Heartbreaker’ was the second single from ‘Goat’s Head Soup’ and was the single between ‘Angie’ (1973) and the title track from the next album ‘Its Only Rock and Roll (But I Like It) (1974).

Lyrically the song is timely today as it is about police accidently shooting and killing a 10-year old boy. The lyrical reference to the ‘44’ (You heartbreaker, with your .44, I want to tear that world apart) refers to a .44 Magnum, the guy used by the Clint Eastwood character Harry Callahan in the movie ‘Dirty Harry’.

The Rolling Stones Zipcode tour will pull into Ohio Stadium in Columbus 43210 Saturday May 30 2015.
