Vika & Linda join Paul Cashmere for an in-depth Noise11 conversation about their deeply personal new album Where Do You Come From?
In this interview, Vika and Linda discuss why the album became one of the most intimate records of their career and how writing their memoir No Bull opened the door to more honest songwriting. After decades of singing with other artists and building one of Australia’s most respected musical careers, the sisters explain why now felt like the right time to tell their own stories.
The conversation explores the album’s title track Where Do You Come From? and its themes of identity, belonging and growing up in Australia as children of a mixed-cultural family. Vika talks about revisiting childhood memories, racism and being asked “Where do you really come from?”, while Linda reflects on family, multiculturalism and the experiences that shaped them.
Paul also speaks with the sisters about other themes running through the record including motherhood, grief, ancestry and menopause. Linda explains the inspiration behind Waiting On The Kid and Vika opens up about writing I Hit Pause during a difficult period in her life.
The interview also touches on the uplifting side of the album with Bliss, their love of ABBA harmonies, working with Ben Salter and their upcoming Australian tour.
After more than 40 years together, Vika & Linda explain why they still feel they have stories left to tell.
Where Do You Come From? is out 5 June 2026.
