Trevor Ashley Cast As Herod In New Australian Jesus Christ Superstar

One of Australia’s biggest stars of stage Trevor Ashley has been cast as Herod in the upcoming Australian production of Jesus Christ Superstar from The Production Company.

Jesus Christ Superstar will be the second of three shows for The Production Company’s 2017 season. ‘Hello Dolly’, starring Marina Prior and Grant Piro, opened last week.

Trevor Ashley was recently the star of Cameron Mackintosh’s ‘Les Miserables’. He played Edna in ‘Hairspray’ and was in the original stage production of ‘Priscilla Queen of the Desert – The Musical’.

Michael Cormick, who has starred in the Australian productions of Beauty and the Beast, Sunset Boulevard’ and The Rocky Horror Show’ will play Pontius Pilate. Cormick was most recently in Cabaret.

Trevor and Michael join the already announced cast of Rob Mills (Jesus), Alinta Chidzey (Mary Magdalene) and Zoy Frangos (Judas).

Jesus Christ Superstar is being produced by The Production Company in association with Andrew Lloyd Webber’s Really Useful Group Ltd.

The season opens on July 29 and must close 13 August.
