Donald ‘Duck’ Dunn was on tour in Japan with his long-term muso mate Steve Cropper when he died suddenly in the early hours of Sunday morning.

Cropper and Dunn were on tour in Japan with soul great Eddie Floyd. Decades before they had backed Eddie on his classic hit ‘Knock On Wood’.

Many knew him as a member of Booker T & The MJs, others for the Blues Brothers. Dunn played on records by Eric Clapton, Leon Russell, Neil Young and Australia’s Guy Sebastian.

Donald ‘Duck’ Dunn was 70-years old. He is survived by wife June, son Geoff and grandson Michael.
