Wage War have turned up the intensity with “God Complex”, the latest track from their forthcoming album Landfall, giving fans another preview of the 13-track record due digitally on October 9 through Fearless Records.

The new song follows “Landfall” and “Sweet Dreams”, which have already introduced different sides of the album. “God Complex” pushes firmly towards the heavier end of the band’s sound, built around dense guitar riffs, deep grooves, melodic passages and a breakdown designed for the live setting.

For a band that has spent 2026 moving between recorded music and the stage, the timing gives “God Complex” added context. Wage War completed an Australian headline tour in August, ending with a sold-out Sydney show on August 7, before turning their attention back to the campaign for Landfall.

The new album brings together material released across the year, including “Sweet Dreams” and the title track, while adding 10 other songs to create Wage War’s next full-length statement. The tracklist also includes “Silk”, “Figure 8”, “Stay With Me”, “Silence Has Spoken”, “Way Of Pain”, “Red Dot”, “Blindfold”, “Spellbound”, “Song Of The Swamp” and “Silhouette”.

“God Complex” arrives with a visualiser that reflects the song’s deliberately imposing character. The track is constructed around the contrast that has become central to Wage War’s music, moving between punishing guitar work and more melodic vocal sections rather than staying in one register throughout.

The current lineup features Briton Bond on lead vocals, Cody Quistad on rhythm guitar and clean vocals, Seth Blake on lead guitar, Chris Gaylord on bass and Stephen Kluesener on drums.

Landfall follows the band’s 2024 album Stigma, which produced the single “Magnetic”. That song reached number one on Billboard’s Mainstream Rock Airplay chart, giving Wage War a notable result outside the band’s core metalcore audience.

The new record also comes after the April 2026 EP It Calls Me By Name. “Sweet Dreams” subsequently extended the run of new material before the Landfall album was formally announced last month.

There is a Florida connection running through the title track that gives the album its name. Wage War have described “Landfall” through the imagery of imminent danger and forces beyond human control, drawing on the experience of living in a state where hurricanes are an unavoidable part of the environment. That idea provides a thematic backdrop for a record whose songs repeatedly move between aggression, melody and a sense of tension.

Wage War formed in Ocala, Florida, in 2010, initially operating as Empires before adopting the Wage War name. The band’s debut album, Blueprints, followed in 2015, establishing the combination of heavy riffs, breakdowns and melodic vocals that has remained central to their recorded work.

Deadweight followed in 2017, then Pressure in 2019 and Manic in 2021. Stigma continued that progression in 2024.

The Australian tour added another significant chapter to the band’s 2026 schedule. The five-date run travelled from Perth to Adelaide, Melbourne, Brisbane and Sydney, with Orthodox and Heavensgate supporting. The Sydney finale was reported as sold out.

Wage War will now return to US stages for a headline tour later this year, with We Came As Romans, Varials and Cane Hill joining the bill. The dates will give the band an opportunity to put the new material into a live setting before Landfall has been available for long.

For now, “God Complex” is the clearest indication of how forcefully Wage War intend to approach the new album. With the full 13-song record only days away, the remaining tracks will reveal whether the aggression of the new single represents the centre of Landfall or one part of a broader record.

Landfall is out digitally October 9 via Fearless Records.
