Andrew De Silva To Perform His Tribute To Prince At The X Studio

in News

Former CDB and current Boom Crash Opera frontman Andrew De Silva will bring his Purple Revolution: A Tribute To Prince’ show to Sydney’s The X Studio.

Andrew’s Purple Revolution band gathers some of Australia’s finest musicians like guitar virtuoso Simon Hossford (Men At Work, Tommy Emmanuel), Paolo Cecchinelli (Kate Ceberano, Vanessa Amorosi), Rod Bustos (Kate Ceberano, Vanessa Amorosi) and ‘skin specialist’ Johnny Salerno (Belinda Carlisle, Jon Stevens).

Andrew put the tribute show together this year to honour Prince and includes some Prince rarities alongside the major hits in the show.

Andrew has been a lifelong Prince fan. “There was something about it that I related to. He’s the underdog. He was quiet. But when he steps on stage, look out. Which is a lot like my life,” he said.

Andrew De Silva ‘Purple Revolution: A Tribute To Prince’ is on at The X Studio, 1 Batswater Rd, Kings Cross on Wednesday, November 30.

Tickets at $28.15 are available here.

James Taylor Farewells Australia With Final Tour (Melbourne Review)

I could go to a James Taylor show just for the stories. The man is a part of music history and is still around to tell the tales of how it all began. Like, for instance, being the first artist signed to Apple Records. James “auditioned” for Apple with his song ‘Something In The Way She Moves’. "Paul went away and started the label and George went away and wrote the song”, he said.
