Chris Isaak Is New X Factor Australia Judge

Chris Isaak is becoming a talent show judge for Australia’s X Factor.

Isaak is joining the panel on the Australian version of The X Factor with Dannii Minogue, James Blunt and Guy Sebastian who is back after two years away.

Isaak said of his new job “I’m excited to join The X Factor. It is going to be surreal to be on the show as a judge after having watched so many episodes as a fan. I know it’s a show with a history of articulate intelligent judges, and I know they wanted to change that up so they called me. I have watched the show at home and rooted for my favorites, now I will be doing pretty much the same thing…only I will comb my hair and put on a clean shirt. I’m ready!”

Dannii Minogue, also a veteran artist like Isaak, returns to her judges position for a third season. She won season five of the show with Dami Im.

James Blunt was a guest judge last year but this is his first year in a full time position. Guy Sebastian participated in seasons two through four, winning season three with Reece Mastin and season four with Samantha Jade.

Gone from the panel are Ronan Keating, Natalie Bassingwaighte and Redfoo.

Isaak has recorded eleven studio albums and had hits with Wicked Game (1990 / #6 Pop / #2 Alternative / #12 Adult Contemporary), Can’t Do a Thing (to Stop Me) (1993 / #105 Pop / #7 Alternative / #11 Adult Contemporary) and Somebody’s Crying (1995 / #45 Pop / #34 Alternative / #27 Adult Contemporary).

Minogue has never had a U.S. hit but scored top ten tracks in Britain eight times including All I Wanna Do (1997 / #4 U.K.), I Begin to Wonder (2003 / #2 U.K.) and Don’t Wanna Lose This Feeling (2003 / #5 U.K.).
