Jimmy Barnes Kicks Off Flesh And Wood Acoustic Tour

by Paul Cashmere on July 8, 2015

in Live,News

Jimmy Barnes has kicked off his Flesh and Wood national tour and for Barnes fans the setlist is full of rarities.

Jimmy is touring his 1993 acoustic album ‘Flesh and Wood’ so fans are treated to a very different set of songs.

‘Flesh and Wood’ was a Barnes diversion at the time made with only acoustic instruments and reimagining some of his older hits including Cold Chisel’s ‘Flame Trees’, his own ‘Ride The Night Away’ and covers including The Band’s ‘The Weight’, Elvis Presley’s ‘Love Me Tender’ and Randy Newman’s ‘Guilty’. All feature on the current tour.

Song such as ‘By The Grace of God’ from 1999’s ‘Love And Fear’, ‘Catch Your Shadow’ from 1993’s ‘Heat’ and ‘Missing A Girl’ from the last Chisel album ‘No Plans’ also hit the ‘Flesh and Wood’ format.

The band for the tour is:

Jimmy Barnes – vocals
Jackie Barnes – drums
Lachy Doley – keyboards
Danny Spencer – guitar
Jimmy Metherell – guitar
Chris Pearson – bass & double bass
Tina Harrod – vocals
Shauna Jensen – vocals
Elly-May Barnes – vocals
Jane Barnes – vocals
Rodney Wikstrom – violin
Danielle Bentley – cello
Nikkie Dobosi – cello
