Tickets for Just For Laughs, the week of comedy for Sydney in October, have gone on sale.

Just For Laughs 2014 will feature shows from Bill Bailey, Rhys Darby, Trevor Noah and Jim Gaffigan. The series will be housed at the Sydney Opera House and hosted by Foxtel Stand Up Comedy series presenter Dave Thornton.

BILL BAILEY, a favourite with Australian audiences and one of the UK’s biggest comedy stars, will present the world premiere of his brand new show Limboland on October 16. The comedian, musician, actor and presenter, is perhaps the consummate guitar wielding, beard wearing, Klingon-resembling entertainer. Best known for stand-up tours such as Part Troll, Tinselworm, and his last show Qualmpeddler as well as his work on television in programmes including QI and Black Books and Bill Bailey’s Jungle Hero. He has also acted on stage, appeared in films and played with the BBC Concert Orchestra.

RHYS DARBY, who played Murray in The Flight of the Conchords will perform his new show on October 17. Now living in LA, the New Zealand comedian/actor is known for his energetic, physical comedy routines. His sensational blend of sound effects, characterizations and askew observations have been reducing his international audiences to a state of bewildered hysteria since he launched himself onto the world circuit in 2001. By combining stand up and story telling with physical theatre, Rhys has developed a truly unique style of comedy performance. Some of his TV and Film credits include ABC’s popular comedy Modern Family, How I Met Your Mother on CBS and the 2008 romantic comedy Yes Man, starring Jim Carrey and Zooey Deschanel.

TREVOR NOAH, born a mixed-race child under Apartheid in South Africa, Noah challenges the status quo through his unique perspective, breaking down cultural flaws on all sides and finding our mutual connections through laughter and his eloquent storytelling. Following his last sold-out Australian Tour, Noah, who is rapidly becoming an international touring sensation, returns to Sydney with a performance at the festival on October 15 at the Concert Hall.

JIM GAFFIGAN, is a Grammy nominated comedian, New York Times Best Selling Author and a top touring performer whose DVDs and CDs have reached multi platinum status. Making his Australian debut at this year’s festival, Gaffigan will present his latest show, THE WHITE BREAD TOUR at the Playhouse from October 15 to 17. In the follow-up to his New York Times bestseller Dad is Fast (which was on the list for 17 weeks), Gaffigan takes on his favourite topic: food, in his latest book FOOD, A Love Story. In recent years, Gaffigan also became a mainstay on the big screen with memorable roles in Going The Distance starring Drew Barrymore, Away We Go and Its Kind Of A Funny Story with fellow funny-man Zach Galifianakis. He has also starred in his first Broadway production, That Championship Season starring along side Chris Noth, Brian Cox, Jason Patric and Kiefer Sutherland. Just recently, Gaffigan won for Best Concert Comic at the 2014 American Comedy Awards, which aired on NBC.
