The Starships singer’s special box set reissue The Re-Up hit shelves earlier this month.

The record includes eight new tracks and seven songs from her album Roman Reloaded, released earlier this year.

Even with holiday shopping underway, Nicki is gearing up for disappointing figures as the album hasn’t performed as well as expected.

Speaking to American radio station Power 105.1, the singer said sales have been hindered by key retailers whose executives have refused to stock her record.

“It’s hard to get the album because the stores basically said that the last few re-releases they had put out did not do well and they didn’t want to take a chance,’ she said, pointing out that both Target and Walmart have refused to sell the album.

Nicki said she was hit hard when Target executives decided not to carry The Re-Up because the retailer has sold more albums for her than any other outlet.

She said the decision ‘sets you up to fail’.

But she doesn’t regret putting out the record for her fans.

‘At the end of the day I’m happy that I was able to put the music out. The real reason for me to put out The Re-Up is because I wanted to have a bridge between this time and the third album. I wanted people to have music that I really stand by,’ she said.
