SXSW has confirmed 41 Australian acts has signed to perform at the 2014 music conference and festival in Austin, Texas in March.

The SXSW Conference and Festival will be held from March 7-16, with the ‘Music’ component held from the 11th to the 16th, ‘Film’ between the 7th and 15th, and ‘Interactive’ between the 7th and 11th.

Among the Australian artists confirmed for this year’s event include Australia’s sweethearts Angus and Julia Stone, Melbourne rockers Money For Rope, Sydney’s Kirin J Callinan, Vance Joy and Melbourne street performer Dub FX, who has a massive worldwide following but is largely unknown in his homeland.

There are still up to 20 Aussie acts invited to the event that are yet to accept and confirm their attendance.

Surprisingly, of the 10 acts invited, New Zealand only has 3 acts confirmed for SXSW; Hollywoodfun Downstairs, Popstrangers and Watercolours. Let’s hope the other seven artists get their act together ASAP.

Check out the SXSW website for full details on the event.
