The Seekers have added more dates to their 2014 UK tour adding dates for Glasgow, Manchester and London.
The heritage Australian band started their Australian tour in May this year but were side-lined when singer Judith Durham suffered a brain haemorrhage. Judith has made a complete recovery and the tour will resume in Australia in Perth in November and then head to the UK to start in Cardiff on April 28.
The Seekers had enormous success in the UK. Their first three singles in the UK were all number one hits. Their first single ‘I’ll Never Find Another You’ sold 1.7 million copies. The second song ‘A World Of Our Own’ sold 1.5 million copies. Then ‘The Carnival Is Over’ also topped the British chart.
All three songs were written by Tom Springfield, brother of Dusty.
“The Seekers – Judith Durham, Athol Guy, Keith Potger and Bruce Woodley – are greatly looking forward to taking their UK fans down memory lane with stories, memorabilia, messages of congratulations from music industry contemporaries, and video clips on the big screen,” the band said in a statement.
