The Army, The Navy will return to Australia in May 2027 for five shows on The Fake Brave Tour, following sold-out dates on their 2025 debut visit.

Los Angeles indie-pop duo The Army, The Navy will return to Australia in May 2027 for their five-date The Fake Brave Tour, expanding their reach beyond Sydney and Melbourne with first-ever headline shows in Brisbane, Adelaide and Perth.
Presented by Handsome Tours, the tour follows the duo’s Australian debut in September 2025, when both Sydney shows at The Vanguard sold out and the pair played to a packed Brunswick Ballroom in Melbourne. The 2027 itinerary moves into larger venues and represents a significant expansion of their Australian touring footprint.
The tour begins at Sydney’s Factory Theatre on May 4 before continuing to Melbourne, Brisbane, Adelaide and Perth. Tickets go on sale Friday, September 18 at 10am local time through Handsome Tours.
The Australian dates follow an extended period of international touring for Maia Ciambriello and Sasha Goldberg, who have built their music around closely matched vocal harmonies and songwriting developed over many years of friendship.
By the time they return to Australia, The Army, The Navy will have spent much of the preceding period on the road. The duo played the Allianz stage at Lollapalooza in Chicago’s Grant Park in July 2026 and are scheduled for a 25-date North American headline tour in October, including performances in Sacramento, Seattle, Vancouver, Toronto, Boston, Brooklyn, Washington DC and Los Angeles.
Their touring history has also included support appearances with Matt Maltese, Paris Paloma, Dora Jar and James Arthur, as well as their own Gentle Hellraiser Tour, which sold out most of its US dates.
The Fake Brave Tour takes its name from the duo’s debut album, Fake Brave Life, released in June 2026. The album developed from the songwriting partnership Ciambriello and Goldberg established while studying songwriting in New Orleans. Although they had known one another since childhood and attended the same singing coach, their musical partnership developed more closely during their university years.
The pair now live together in Los Angeles and continue to write collaboratively, collecting ideas and verses in a clothbound notebook they refer to as “the Bible”.
Fake Brave Life followed two 2024 EPs, Fruit For Flies and Sugar For Bugs. The first EP was released in March 2024, with “Vienna (In Memoriam)” becoming one of the songs to draw attention to the duo. Sugar For Bugs followed in December.
The debut album was recorded in Athens, Georgia and New York City with producers Drew Vandenberg and Mikey Freedom Hart. Vandenberg has worked with Faye Webster, Of Montreal and Toro y Moi, while Hart is associated with Bleachers and has production credits involving Taylor Swift, Lana Del Rey and The Chicks.
The recording process expanded the duo’s intimate songwriting approach into a larger studio production featuring session musicians and a string quartet.
The title Fake Brave Life reflects the pair’s stated approach to putting music into the world despite the possibility of rejection. “You have to be brave to put out your music into the world, and know some people will not like it,” the duo said. “Faking that bravery for enough time translates to true courage.”
Their catalogue has continued to develop through a run of singles including “Dirty Laundry”, “Walls”, “Pretty, Pink and Soft”, “Two Collide” and “Down Debbie/Reservoir”.
The Army, The Navy first gained wider attention through social media before releasing Fruit For Flies. Their subsequent touring has taken them through North America and Europe, establishing a live profile ahead of the release of their debut album.
The 2027 Australian tour will give audiences outside Sydney and Melbourne their first opportunity to see the duo headline in their respective cities. The five-date run also provides a return to Australia after their first visit demonstrated demand for the pair in the country’s two largest music markets.
