Boom Crash Opera Debut Andrew De Silva And Two New Songs

in Live,News

Boom Crash Opera have broken in new singer Andrew De Silva with shows in Albury and Mulwala over the weekend. The band also debuted two new songs.

The departure of original singer Dale Ryder was announced in March. Andrew, formerly of CDB, stepped in to keep the show on the road. “There is so much to know about a band with a 30+ year history, but Andy is very respectful to our story,” drummer Maz tells Noise11.com.

“Andy had a great time. He is such a pro and finds his way through the Boom Crash jungle,” he added..

Guitarist Pete Farnan was excitied to finally give fans some new music after all these years. “I got a big thrill from playing oldies like Gap That Opened and brand newies like Running Blind – it’s always a bit scarey – ‘legacy’ rock bands playing new material … gotta hit ‘em hard with a hit after craving their indulgence – I think we’ve got the balance right. Plus the upturned set list (well, upturned for we old hands),” he said.
