Brisbane rock band Awaken I Am is the latest signing to US label Victory Records.

Victory Records was founded in 1989 by Tony Brummel. Over the years Brummel has guided the careers of Taking Back Sunday, Thursday and Hawthorn Heights.

Current acts on Victory Records include Il Niño, Taproot and A Day To Remember.

“Victory is a label that has released albums that have literally shaped the modern rock genre. We are excited to work with a company that innovates because that is what we hope to achieve as a band with this new record,” says Luke McKenzie of Awaken I Am.

Awaken I Am is:

Adam Douglas – Vocals
Luke McKenzie – Drums
Ned Jankovic – Guitars
Connor Oakley – Guitars

Awaken I Am will enter the studio in January 2017 to record their first album for Victory Records with producer Taylor Larsen.

“’Slumber’ is our first step in a new direction. The last 18 months have been a lot of hard work, at times frustration, and reinvention for us as a band and this first new track is a perfect representation of this journey,” explains McKenzie. “We all have some diverse influences that shape our music, going all the way from bands we grew up listening to such as Underoath through to Justin Timberlake.”

The band is currently putting together a touring schedule for 2017. Album detail and tour dates will be announced soon.
