in Live,News

Bruce Springsteen jumped on stage at the Paramount in Asbury Park as the unannounced, unofficial headliner for the Light of Day benefit on Saturday night and stayed on stage for two and a half hours.

For the last 15 years the annual Light Of Day concert raises money for the Light of Day charity to fund research into possible cures and improved treatment for patients suffering from Parkinsons.

Springsteen just “turns up” at the event if he happens to be in town and for 11 of the 15 events has been the unofficial headliner.

The officially advertised artists were La Bamba’s Big Band with Gary US Bonds and Southside Johnny, James Maddock Band, Pat Di Nizio, Willie Nile, Garland Jeffreys, John Eddie and His Big Ol’ Band, Guy Davis, Sam Llanas of the Bodeans, Dawg Whistle, John Easdale and Peter Wood, Williams Honor, Billy Hector, Rob Dye and Christine Martucci and Joe D’Uso & Stone Caravan.
