British comedian Ian Cognito (Paul Barbieri) literally became his own punch line after he dropped dead on stage in Bicester, UK minutes after joking about dying on stage.

The 60-year-old comedian was doing his routine when he had to sit down and stayed silent. The audience thought it was part of the act.

Andrew Bird, who runs comedy at the venue, said that Ian was not feeling well before the show but insisted on doing the show.

Off-duty nurses in the audience assisted the comedian but he could not be revived.
