Darren Middleton Releases New Solo Music

by Paul Cashmere on July 27, 2018

in News

Former Powderfinger guitarist Darren Middleton has a new song, an album on the way and an East Coast tour coming up.

Darren’s new song is ‘Some People’ from his upcoming second album ‘Tides’.

Darren told fans, “The reason being, it has been a damn long time since I’ve released some new work and booked some special shows to boot! I’ve been squirrelled away for the last 18 months, working on film score but also working on this new album of mine, titled ‘TIDES’.

“I won’t talk too much about it now…best thing to do is have a listen/pre-order it and come see one of these shows. The album is an absolute cracker, full of life and full of special guests….some of whom will join me at these shows.
Here’s some links and I really hope I see you there.”

Melbourne director Nathan Dalton made the video, “Being a fan of Darren’s music since the early Powderfinger days, it was a dream come true collaborating with him on this music video. The lyrics to Some People talk of how people change over time, but rather than the visuals reflecting this, we chose to tell an abstract story of Darren navigating through various worlds, singing and playing while he searches for a mystical woman.

The music video was shot with the support of Fujifilm over two and half days, predominantly in the Warburton area and our studio at Oh Yeah Wow in Brunswick”

‘Tides’ will be released on September 21, 2018.
