Daryl Braithwaite Debuts New Song By Aussie Grammy Nominee Michael Fatkin

in News

Daryl Braithwaite has returned to active duty after four months exploring Planet Earth. His first show in months featured his first performance of ‘Lovesongs’ by Sydney songwriter Michael Fatkin.

The name Michael Fatkin doesn’t immediately ring bells but the 25-year old songwriter was nominated for Christian Contemporary Album of the Year for ‘Youth Revival’ at the 2019 Grammy Awards. He also was nominated for an ARIA Award in 2018 for his song ‘House’ by The McClymonts.

Fatkin has worked with Australian artists Jessica Mauboy, Tina Arena and Sarah Aarons and his new song ‘Lovesongs’ is a potential for Daryl Braithwaite at some time in the future.

Daryl’s last collection of new music was the 8-track album ‘Forever The Tourist’ in 2013. His 2017 ‘Days Go By’ compilation also included four new recordings including Peter Gabriel’s ‘In Your Eyes’, James Reyne’s ‘Motor’s Too Fast’ and Chicago’s ‘If You Leave Me Now’ as well as Carole King’s ‘Up On The Roof’ from the ‘Beautiful – A Tribute To Carole King’ and the duet with Melinda Jackson ‘When We Were Kings’.

Daryl played the first show of his current tour at The Palms at Crown Casino, Melbourne on Saturday 14 September 2019. Daryl will spend the rest of 2019 on the road including dates with Rob Thomas.
