Dave Grohl has shot down rumours he is planning a Nirvana reunion tour.
The musician was the drummer in the US grunge band, with Krist Novoselic on bass and the late Kurt Cobain on guitar and vocals.

Kurt committed suicide in 1994 and since then Krist retired from the spotlight while Dave enjoyed success with his band Foo Fighters.

The two surviving members of Nirvana teamed up with Sir Paul McCartney for a performance at the recent 12-12-12 concert at Madison Square Garden, which benefitted those affected by Hurricane Sandy.

It has been claimed Dave enjoyed the show so much he wants to recreate it again.

“Sources tell us Nirvana drummer Grohl has been privately telling friends that he’s working on a ‘Nirvana anniversary tour with a secret frontman,'” reports New York Post.

It was suggested Paul wouldn’t be taking the reins as the singer, with Pearl Jam’s Eddie Vedder, Jared Leto or Kurt’s widow Courtney Love mooted as replacements.

The publication asked Dave’s spokespeople for comment, with the representative slamming the suggestion as “nonsense”.

If the plans were to go ahead, it seems doubtful that Courtney would be involved. She condemned Dave and Krist’s decision to perform with Paul last week.

‘[I’m] not amused,’ she said. “Look, if John [Lennon] were alive it would be cool.”
