Diesel 30 Celebrates 30 Years Of Saturday Nights

Diesel is celebrating 30 years in the music biz with a newly curated collection of songs spanning from go to whoa.

In 1987 Mark Lizotte (aka Diesel / Johnny Diesel) was the guitarist for the Jimmy Barnes band and played on Jimmy’s ‘Freight Train Heart’. The first single ‘Don’t Need Love’ came in 1988.

“The last greatest hits I did was in ’97,” Diesel said. “That was a long time ago and obviously there’s been a lot of records since then. Its nice to look back and recap, do a little stocktake, put them all together and make a little family out of them”.

To bring the collection up to date Diesel recorded a new song ‘Give Me Saturday Night’. “For packages like this it is always nice to put something new as well,” he said. “I put “Give Me Saturday Night’ on it. It’s a bit of a classic track for me and kind of encapsulates being in the industry for 30 years where any night of the week is like Saturday night.
