Donnie Wahlberg and Nick Lachey are teaming up to produce a comedy series about a boyband.

New Kids on the Block’s Donnie, and Nick, who fronted 98 Degrees, are working on the scripted TV show that will follow a fictional boyband who reunite after 20 years apart, according to Variety.

Encore, which is being written by Entourage creator Doug Ellin, was the result of conversations Donnie and Nick had about how their lives have changed since their days as teenage heartthrobs and now, balancing family life with boyband reunions.

Doug worked with Donnie’s younger brother Mark Wahlberg on the hit HBO show Entourage, which was based on the actor’s early experiences in Hollywood.

Donnie, 47, has two children – Xavier and Elijah – from his first marriage to Kimberly Fey, who he divorced in 2008. He’s now married to TV presenter and former model Jenny McCarthy.

Nick married to fellow pop star Jessica Simpson in 2002, but the famous pair went on to split three years later. The 43-year-old singer married Vanessa Minnillo in 2011, and the couple has two children, son Camden and daughter Brooklyn, with Vanessa pregnant with their third child.

Nick and Donnie previously worked together when New Kids on the Block and 98 Degrees toured with Boyz II Men on The Package Tour back in 2013.

Encore is the second boyband series to be developed in recent months, after Zayn Malik’s drama Boys, which the former One Direction singer is co-producing. That series will be reportedly based on Zayn’s time in the British boyband.
