Fadi Fawaz and George MichaelGeorge was found dead by his partner Fadi Fawaz on Christmas Day from heart failure. Sir Elton was one of his closest friends. “I am in deep shock. I have lost a beloved friend – the kindest, most generous soul and a brilliant artist. My heart goes out to his family, friends and all of his fans. @GeorgeMichael #RIP,” Sir Elton posted to Instagram after George’s death.

Elton John by Ros O'GormanGeorge Michael covered Elton John and Bernie Taupin’s ‘Don’t Let The Sun Go Down On Me’ with Elton at Live Aid in 1985. In 1991 Elton joined George on stage at Wembley on 23 March 1991 to perform the song again. The live recording from that show became a number one hit around the world in 1991 and 1992.

According to Metro, there will be a public memorial for fans and a private funeral for family and friends.

The family of George Michael have also denied reports of suicide, spread by music industry motor mouth Bob Lefsetz. ‘Contrary to some reports, there were no suspicious circumstances surrounding his death, and from the bottom of our hearts we thank those who, rightly, have chosen to celebrate his life and legacy at this most distressing of times.’

James Taylor Farewells Australia With Final Tour (Melbourne Review)

I could go to a James Taylor show just for the stories. The man is a part of music history and is still around to tell the tales of how it all began. Like, for instance, being the first artist signed to Apple Records. James “auditioned” for Apple with his song ‘Something In The Way She Moves’. "Paul went away and started the label and George went away and wrote the song”, he said.
