The original release, which would have been fifty years to the day after the first Beatles single was released, was recalled when the company used the wrong version of the song on the pressing. EMI used the version heard on the U.K. Please Please Me album, with studio drummer Andy White, instead of the original single version that included Ringo Starr.

At the time, EMI said that “It is yet to be decided whether the single will be re-pressed” but demand must have been high because repress they did and it will be out next Monday, October 22.

If you are interested in the single, it might be a good idea to order it soon. Amazon currently lists it as available. On the other hand, if you were one of a suspected few who received the original pressing before the recall, put it in a safe deposit box to help put your kids through college in a few years.
