Emmylou Harris Makes An Appearance On New Kasey Chambers Album

The legendary Emmylou Harris will be heard singing with Kasey Chambers on Kasey’s upcoming album ‘Campfire’.

“It is an absolute dream come true that I actually have Emmylou Harris singing a duet with me on Campfire,” Kasey says. “She ended up being an “honorary” Fireside Disciple for the album.”

‘Campfire’ is Kasey’s 12th album. She has made it with her band The Fireside Disciples. The Fireside Disciples have toured the world with Kasey for the last three years. They are Alan Pigram, Brandon Dodd and Kasey’s dad Bill Chambers.

“I grew up in the remote outback of Australia living a unique lifestyle isolated from civilisation,” Kasey Chambers said in a statement. “The campfire was the heart of our existence: for survival, creativity, inspiration. We hunted all our own food and then cooked it on the campfire. My brother and I did all our schooling via correspondence around the campfire. We used the campfire for warmth and light. We gathered around the campfire at night to play songs together as a family. Our connection to music and the land has developed through and around the campfire since I was born, so it has always stayed with me as a special part of my life”.

Sammy Hagar’s New Live Album Features Rai Thistlethwayte of Thirsty Merc

Sammy Hagar has always had a reputation for surrounding himself with powerhouse players, but his upcoming live album, Sammy Hagar & The Best Of All Worlds Band – The Residency (out October 10, 2025 via Big Machine Rock), brings a distinctly Australian twist. On keyboards, vocals and guitar is Rai Thistlethwayte, best known at home for fronting Thirsty Merc and more recently as a member of The Fabulous Caprettos. For Australian fans, the inclusion of Thistlethwayte in Hagar’s latest chapter is a striking reminder of how far the Sydney-born musician’s career has travelled.
