Felicity Urquhart and Josh Cunningham have announced an 18-date Go North Go South Tour across NSW and Victoria, extending the touring cycle for their third collaborative album, Everything Around You. The tour begins at Horizontal Festival in Bowral on October 3, 2026, travels through regional and metropolitan centres before moving into Victoria, and concludes with a Tamworth Country Music Festival performance in January 2027.
The tour follows the March 2026 release of Everything Around You, an album that continued the chart performance established by the duo’s first two records. The album spent multiple weeks at number one on the ARIA Australian Country Album Chart, giving Urquhart and Cunningham another significant chart result from a partnership that began during the 2020 lockdown period.
Everything Around You is built around themes of resilience, community, love and joy. The songwriting draws on the folk, country, blues and roots traditions that have shaped both artists’ careers, while the recording includes contributions from members of their family, including Urquhart’s daughters Tia and Ellie.
The Go North Go South Tour will feature songs from the new album including Joy Roller, Stone In Your Heart and New Frontier. The set will also draw from the duo’s earlier catalogue, including Size Up from Birdsong, alongside material connected to their individual careers.
For Urquhart, the tour continues a career in Australian country music spanning more than three decades. She has won 14 Golden Guitar Awards and received multiple ARIA Award nominations. Her solo catalogue includes the acclaimed 2019 album Frozen Rabbit, which produced Chain Of Joy and led to three Golden Guitar wins at the 2020 awards.
Urquhart has also been a prominent broadcaster and presenter. She hosted ABC’s Saturday Night Country from 2010 to 2020 and has worked extensively across Australian television and radio. Her career has included support appearances with international artists including John Mellencamp, Sheryl Crow and Willie Nelson. In 2001, she received the Centenary Medal for her contribution to the country music industry.
Cunningham brings an equally substantial history to the partnership. He is a founding member of The Waifs, the Australian folk group formed with Donna and Vikki Simpson in 1992. The Waifs’ 2003 album Up All Night reached number three on the ARIA Albums Chart and achieved double platinum status in Australia. The group also won four ARIA Awards during its career.
Cunningham wrote and sang Lighthouse, one of The Waifs’ best-known songs, and in 2011 released his debut solo album, Into Tomorrow. The Waifs’ international profile also led to an invitation from Bob Dylan to support his North American and Australian tours in 2003.
The partnership between Urquhart and Cunningham began in 2020 through a songwriting collective. Their first album, The Song Club, developed from a weekly songwriting exercise during the pandemic and was recorded largely at Urquhart’s home studio on the NSW Central Coast. Released in 2021, it reached number one on the ARIA Country Album Chart.
Their second album, Birdsong, followed in 2023 and produced Size Up, which became the centrepiece of their success at the 52nd Golden Guitar Awards in 2024. The song won both Song Of The Year and Single Of The Year, while Birdsong also took out Traditional Country Album Of The Year, giving the pair three Golden Guitars from the ceremony.
Everything Around You marks the third stage of that collaboration. Produced with Matt Fell, the album continues the songwriting partnership while expanding the musical and family dimensions of the project. The duo were also nominated for Group/Duo Of The Year at the 2026 Toyota Golden Guitar Awards.
The 18-date schedule reflects the continuing importance of regional venues to Australia’s folk and country touring circuit. Alongside festival appearances, the itinerary includes community halls, theatres, clubs and performing arts venues in locations ranging from Murwillumbah and Tenterfield to Newcastle, Kiama, Geelong and Portland.
The final date will take place at the Capital Theatre during the Tamworth Country Music Festival on January 20, 2027, bringing the touring cycle into Australia’s most significant annual country music event.
