Fleetwood Mac with Neil Finn to Tour Australia in August

Fleetwood Mac’s new line-up with Neil Finn and Mike Campbell will tour Australia in August.

Finn (Crowded House/Split Enz) and Campbell (Tom Petty & The Heartbreakers) joined Fleetwood Mac under controversial circumstances when Lindsey Buckingham was dropped from the band (in a move initiated by Stevie Nicks). Nicks and Buckingham has gone cold on each other for some time. She refused to partake in a new Fleetwood Mac album. Buckingham and Christine McVie released it as the duo album ‘Buckingham McVie’ with a band that featured Mick Fleetwood and John McVie on the tracks (effectively a Mac album without Nicks).

Fleetwood Mac then wanted to tour. Buckingham didn’t want to go out at the time and suddenly he was out of the band. It is testament to his talents that he had to be replaced with two members, Finn for his vocal skills and Campbell for his guitar skills. A new Lindsey was not to be found in one person.

The new Fleetwood Mac setlist brings Finn to the forefront with his Spilt Enz classic ‘I Got You’ and Crowded House’s ‘Don’t Dream Its Over’ at some shows. Campbell represents his Petty past with ‘Freefallin’.
