Michael Gudinski’s flagship Frontier Touring Company has a new accolade with Billboard naming the company the Number One Independent Concert Promoter In The World’.

Half yearly figures give Frontier the third highest grossing boxscore behind major public companies Live Nation and AEG.

Frontier was also placed in the number one position for Australian promoters followed by second placeholder (and 7th overall) Paul Dainty’s the Dainty Group.

Frontier Touring was behind the recent Australian tours for The Rolling Stones, Eagles, Kylie Minogue, Foo Fighters, Ed Sheeran and Johnny Marr. Later in 2015 Frontier will tour Ed Sheeran for the second time this year, as well as Taylor Swift, Rise Against, Sam Smith, Jamie Lawson, Baio, James Bay, Passion Pit, Imagine Dragons, Tyler, the Creator, Conrad Sewell, Ben Lee, Chet Faker and Cold Chisel.

“2014 was a huge year for Frontier but 2015 has set the bar even higher. We’ve never been so busy and our team has never worked as hard,” Michael Gudinski said in a statement.

“You’re only as good as the artists you work with and we’re honoured to have such amazing talent choose to tour Australia and New Zealand as part of the Frontier family.

“It can be tough being an independent promoter in a fiercely competitive and increasingly globalised business but we’re incredibly proud of our ability to have more than held our own without compromising on the style and class we’re famous for. We’re looking forward to blowing everyone out of the water again at the end of the year!”
