The J Awards are held as part of triple j’s Ausmusic Month and are designed as a way to define the year in music and to celebrate the outstanding musical output of our homegrown artists.

Embodying triple j’s philosophy of developing emerging Australian artists, the The J Awards include Australian Album of the Year, Australian Music Video of the Year and Unearthed Artist of the Year.

Certainly this year’s nominees do reflect much of the local music scene at the moment, with all nominees for Australian Album of the Year playing one or more of the upcoming summer festivals, including Laneway and Homebake, with Tame Impala, Hermitude and Flume also recently at Parklife.
