Hoodoo Gurus Are Finally Streaming After All These Years

Hoodoo Gurus admit they are probably the last band on Earth to stream their music.

In what can probably be considered ‘a world last’, Hoodoo Gurus have announced, “It’s been a long time coming and many of you have been pestering us about it for years. We must be one of the last major bands on the planet to join the digital party – even AC/DC and The Beatles struck a deal before us! Well, we just wanted to do it right, and now we think we have”.

Every single Hoodoo Gurus song is available and ready to be streamed by you on all the major platforms, wherever you are, whenever you want. “Right here, right now”, as Fatboy Slim declared so memorably.

Proving that the future can catch up with the past as fast as the past can catch up with the future, Hoodoo Gurus will also release their entire catalogue on vinyl, including some albums that have never been on vinyl.

“Another exciting bit of news is that every single Hoodoo Gurus album is going to be released on 180-gram coloured vinyl, with a different colour to match the artwork of each album. Many of them have never been available on vinyl before and they’re all being reissued in chronological order over the next 12 months as part of Hoodoo Gurus Record Club. Anyone who becomes a subscriber to our Record Club will receive one new vinyl album delivered to them every month for a year, and Record Club members will get the albums at a special discount price. Three months after the Record Club members receive theirs, those same vinyl versions will be released on general sale at the normal price, again, being released one at a time over the space of a year. I’m personally thrilled that, as well as our nine individual studio albums, both Electric Soup and Gorilla Biscuit will be coming out on vinyl for the first time, each one as a double-album. Additionally, the Turkish Delight album by Persian Rugs (aka The Pseudo Gurus) will also come out as a double album on vinyl for the first time as well, including a whole extra disc of unreleased and rare tracks”.

James Taylor Farewells Australia With Final Tour (Melbourne Review)

I could go to a James Taylor show just for the stories. The man is a part of music history and is still around to tell the tales of how it all began. Like, for instance, being the first artist signed to Apple Records. James “auditioned” for Apple with his song ‘Something In The Way She Moves’. "Paul went away and started the label and George went away and wrote the song”, he said.
