Queens of the Stone Age frontman Josh Homme has admitted to being “a total dick” after kicking photographer Chelsea Lauren in the head during a gig last weekend.

Lauren was taken to hospital for treatment after Homme kicked her while she photographing Queens of the Stone Age during a KROQ show in LA. The entire incident was captured on video.

In a statement Homme said, “I’d just like to apologize to Chelsea Lauren. I don’t have any excuse or reason to justify what I did. I was a total dick.

“I’ve made a lot of mistakes in my life and last night was definitely one of them.

“I want to be a good man but I think that last night I definitely failed at that. That means I failed by family and my friends as well. I don’t want them to be ashamed or embarrassed being around me. I apologise also to my bandmates and my mom and my dad and my wife, my brother and my kids. I’m going to have to figure out some stuff I think because rock and roll is a wonderful thing. It is supposed to help and save people, not mess them up”.
