Justin Timberlake Stands By Jessica Biel’s Anti-Vax Comments

Justin Timberlake has shown his support for his wife Jessica Biel, after she was heavily criticised for her vaccination stance.

Earlier this week, Jessica Biel joined politician and outspoken anti-vaccination advocate Robert F. Kennedy Jr. at the California State Capitol in Sacramento to lobby against the proposed SB 276 bill.

The legislation, which was launched in March by California senator and paediatrician Dr. Richard Pan, would limit medical exemptions from vaccinations without approval from a state public health officer.

Although Biel later clarified that she wasn’t anti-vaccines, the 37-year-old actress has been the subject of intense criticism online.

But while being inducted into the Songwriters Hall of Fame, 38-year-old Timberlake was on hand to show his unwavering support for his under-fire spouse.

“To my wife, who is here tonight and who has given me the greatest gift of love,” he said, according to Us Weekly. “Our son is four now, and he’s dope too! I’ve written so many songs because of that that I’m so proud of and I just… I’m extremely humbled. I hope that I can represent this award for all of you.”

Jessica who shares four-year-old Silas with the SexyBack hitmaker, insisted in a post on Instagram that she wasn’t against vaccinations, but wanted more choice for parents in the U.S. who have children with medical conditions that can be exacerbated by vaccinations.

“That’s why I spoke to legislators and argued against this bill. Not because I don’t believe in vaccinations, but because I believe in giving doctors and the families they treat the ability to decide what’s best for their patients and the ability to provide that treatment,” Biel wrote.

The comments mark the first time Biel has publicly addressed her views on childhood inoculations, after she and Timberlake were previously reported to have chosen not to vaccinate Silas.
