Lotte Gallagher swaps the scorching guitars of her earlier work for piano, orchestration and the optimism of new love on her latest single, released as she prepares to begin a Victorian headline tour.

Lotte Gallagher has taken a markedly softer musical turn with ‘LUCKY2LOVE’, a dreamy new single about the early rush of falling for someone, released just days before she begins a four-date Victorian headline tour.
The Naarm singer-songwriter has previously built her sound around raw guitar textures, direct songwriting and the emotional volatility heard across her 2025 EP Blasé Vengeance. ‘LUCKY2LOVE’ moves in another direction, bringing Gallagher’s haunting vocal to the front of a production built around dramatic piano and orchestration.
The song was co-written and produced with Ed Quinn, whose production credits include Sycco, Telenova and Slum Sociable. Together, Gallagher and Quinn have created a track that is less concerned with the complications of a relationship than with the period when everything still feels possible.
Gallagher describes the song as being about “the feeling of infatuation and an insane amount of positivity toward a relationship”.
She is interested in the details that make that early stage feel almost suspended in time: driving with a hand out the window, flirting, holding hands, dancing around the kitchen and the sense of being willing to commit completely without worrying about what might happen next.
“You can only see the light,” Gallagher says of the mindset behind the song.
That optimism gives ‘LUCKY2LOVE’ a different emotional temperature from some of Gallagher’s earlier material. Her 2025 Blasé Vengeance EP included ‘PTRCK’, ‘F U IN MORSE CODE’ and ‘OUT OF PATIENCE’. Earlier this year she followed it with ‘WISH’, another collaboration with Quinn.
The new single also provides a snapshot of how quickly Gallagher has developed since she first came to national attention as a 2023 triple j Unearthed High finalist with ‘Adam’. The song subsequently passed one million streams, while her debut EP A Better Feeling introduced ‘Gray’ and ‘This Room’ to a growing audience.
Gallagher has since moved from emerging high school songwriter to an artist regularly appearing on Australian stages. She has performed alongside The Beaches, Ricky Montgomery, St Vincent, Matt Corby, Holy Holy and Telenova, while festival appearances have included Laneway, Bass in the Grass and Party In The Paddock.
Her live career is now moving into another phase with her Victorian headline tour beginning this week. The first show is at Major Tom’s in Kyneton on Friday, followed by a performance at Church in Geelong on Saturday.
Gallagher then heads to Melbourne’s The Evelyn on 16 October before finishing the run at Young St Tavern in Frankston on 17 October.
