Madonna Debuts Madame X Live With No Real Surprises

Madonna has played the first show of her new Madame X tour in Brooklyn. Apart from the songs from the new album, there are no real surprises.

As is usual with a Madonna show, the centerpiece of the performance is always about the current album. The Madame x Tour features 12 Madame X songs. That is more than half of the 21 songs set.

The remainder of the show, the “greatest hits” component, fails to dig back to rarities. Instead, every “oldie” Madonna plays in this show has been performed live in her shows in the past 10 years.

The Madame X Tour is scaled down from previous Madonna arena shows. This one is a theatre tour.
