Marilyn Manson Fires Twiggy Ramirez Over Rape Allegations

Marilyn Manson has decided to fire his long time bassist Twiggy Ramirez after he was accused of rape by a former girlfriend and cohort of the Manson band.

Ramirez, born Jeordie White, was accused of rape by Jack Off Jill singer Jessicka Addams who, at one time, was Ramirez’ girlfriend. She detailed the attack on her Instagram account in response to the many confessions of sexual assault that have come out since the Harvey Weinstein story broke.

Jack Off Jill have been involved with Manson since their very first show opening for Marilyn Manson and the Spooky Kids in Davie, FL. Manson also produced some of the band’s material.

Manson recently released a statement, saying “I knew Jessicka and Jeordie had a romantic relationship many years ago and I considered and still consider Jessicka to be a friend. I knew nothing about these allegations until very recently and am saddened by Jessicka’s obvious distress.”

Today, he followed that up with the announcement of Ramirez’ firing:

I have decided to part ways with Jeordie White as a member of Marilyn Manson. He will be replaced for the upcoming tour. I wish him well.

Along with Manson, Ramirez has played with A Perfect Circle, Nine Inch Nails, UNKLE and other bands.
