Meghan Trainor has been forced to cancel her remaining concerts for 2016 after falling ill.

Meghan Trainor took to Instagram on Thursday morning (08Dec16) to break the news to fans, revealing she has been ordered to rest her voice.

“I posted last week that I wasn’t feeling great, but was powering through the best that I could,” she told fans.

“Unfortunately, I am not feeling any better and after leaving the doctor today, I have been put on strict vocal rest for the next two weeks.”

Meghan went on to insist she was crushed by the news, because she had been excited to continue performing for fans throughout the festive season.

“This absolutely kills me because I was so excited to see all of you on the road,” the 22-year-old continued. “I’m going to go home and rest so I can get back to see you all as soon as I can.”

Concluding the note, she added, “I love you so much and am so appreciative of your love and support that you constantly show me. You mean everything to me. Can’t wait to see you in 2017!”

Meghan didn’t list the affected gigs, but she had been due to perform at the 96.5 TIC All Star Christmas in Connecticut on Thursday night, and as part of the line up for Jingle Ball shows in New York, Washington, D.C., Atlanta, Georgia, and Sunrise, Florida from Friday (09Dec16).

Other artists still set to feature on the upcoming Jingle Ball dates include Justin Bieber, Ariana Grande, The Chainsmokers, Ellie Goulding, and Fifth Harmony.
